Bravingtons was a prominent London jewellery and watch retailer, founded by Thomas Bravington in the early 1860s, which retailed Swiss-made wristwatches under its own names, notably Renown and Wetrista. Operating from Pentonville Road and other London locations, the firm also sold pocket watches and military watches, including WWII-era surplus pieces. Collectors today value Bravingtons as a British retailer, not a manufacturer, for its attractive, well-made mid-century retail watches with British provenance, which continue to appear regularly in the vintage market.
