Community Guidelines

Last Updated: October 19, 2026

Welcome

Veloce — The Watch Collector's Community exists to bring watch people together: to share collections, talk horology, discover brands, and buy and sell with confidence. These guidelines keep it a genuine, welcoming place for everyone. They apply everywhere on Veloce — the app and the website — across posts, comments, messages, and the marketplace.

They work alongside our Terms of Service. Using Veloce means agreeing to both.

1

The short version

Veloce is a community of people who love watches. Keep it about watches, be genuine, and treat others the way you'd want to be treated. That's really the whole thing.

  • Be real. Post your own content, describe things honestly, and don't pretend to be someone you're not.
  • Be kind. Debate watches all day — just don't attack the person behind the wrist.
  • Don't spam. Share because you're into it, not to blast a link or a brand across every post you can.
  • Don't scam. No fakes, no bait-and-switch, no pulling deals off-platform to dodge protection.

Get those right and you'll never think about the rest of this page. The sections below just spell out what each one means.

2

Posting

Posts are the heart of the community. We want them to be worth scrolling for.

  • Keep it watch-related. Wrist shots, collection updates, questions, finds, news, horology talk, everyday-carry gear — all welcome. Content with no connection to watches or the hobby may be removed.
  • Post your own stuff, or give credit. Only post photos and content you have the right to share. Don't repost someone else's work as your own.
  • Quality over noise. A one-word or emoji-only post with nothing else attached isn't much of a post. Add a photo, a thought, or a question so people have something to engage with.
  • Don't flood the feed. Posting the same thing over and over, or dumping a burst of near-identical posts in a short window, reads as spam and may be limited or hidden.
3

Commenting

Comments are for conversation. Jump into threads, ask questions, share what you know.

  • Add something. "Nice piece — is that the 39mm or the 41?" beats a copy-paste drop on every post you pass.
  • Don't comment-blast. Leaving the same (or similar) comment across lots of different posts in a short time — especially to push your own brand, shop, or links — is treated as spam. A real back-and-forth under one post is totally fine; spraying comments across the whole feed is not.
  • Heads-up: rapid commenting across many posts is detected automatically. If it trips, you'll get a friendly notice first — it's a nudge, not a ban.
4

Messaging

Direct messages are for connecting with other collectors and dealers. Same spirit applies in private as in public.

  • Be respectful. Unwanted, repeated, or aggressive messaging isn't okay. If someone isn't interested, leave it there.
  • Keep deals on-platform. For anyone's protection, arrange and pay for watches through Veloce's marketplace rather than being pushed to Telegram, WhatsApp, wire transfer, gift cards, or "friends & family" payments. Those requests are the number-one sign of a scam.
  • Watch for safety banners. We may show a "Stay safe" banner on a chat when a message looks risky (off-platform links, new accounts, payment red flags). It never changes or reads out your conversation privately to anyone — it's just a reminder to slow down.
  • No unsolicited spam. Mass-DMing people with promotions or links is not allowed.
5

Buying, selling & authenticity

A lot of trust changes hands here. Protect it.

  • No fakes. Ever. Selling, trading, or passing off counterfeit, replica, or "super clone" watches as genuine is strictly prohibited and will get your account removed. Genuine homage brands are fine when they're described honestly as what they are — never as the brand they resemble.
  • Describe it accurately. Condition, box and papers, service history, flaws, and whether parts are original — say it straight. No misleading photos or details.
  • Deliver what you promised. Ship what was sold, on time, as described.
  • Prices and availability in the shop and marketplace are set in good faith; honor your listings.
6

Respect & safety

Strong opinions about watches are welcome. Harm to people is not.

  • No harassment or bullying. Don't target, pile on, follow around, or intimidate another member. Criticize the watch, not the human.
  • No hate. Attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar have no place here.
  • No threats or encouragement of self-harm or violence toward anyone, including yourself.
  • No sexually explicit content. This is a watch community — keep it that way.
  • No doxxing. Don't share anyone's private information without their consent.
7

Spam, self-promotion & links

We love when members have their own projects — but there's a line between sharing and spamming.

  • Self-promo in moderation. Mentioning your brand, shop, or build when it's genuinely relevant is fine. Making every post and comment an ad is not.
  • No link games. Please use full, normal links — shortened or masked URLs (the kind used to hide where a link really goes) may be blocked, and dropping links with no context will be treated as spam.
  • No engagement farming — follow-for-follow rings, mass tagging, or burst posting to game the feed.
  • Brands & PR: if you want editorial coverage, we have a proper channel for that — see Submit Watch News — rather than blanketing the community.
8

Your account

  • One real you. Use a genuine identity. Don't impersonate another person, brand, or the Veloce team.
  • No throwaways. Accounts created with disposable or fake email addresses may be blocked automatically, as are accounts that exist mainly to spam or scam.
  • You're responsible for your account and everything posted from it. Keep your login secure.
9

How we moderate

We'd rather nudge than punish. Our goal is to protect the community, not to police it.

  • A mix of tools. We use automated signals (keyword flags, spam and scam detection, rate limits), member reports, and human review working together.
  • Trusted members get room. Automated spam checks focus on new and low-reputation accounts — where the problems actually come from — so established, genuine members are generally left to it.
  • A range of responses. Depending on what happened, we may send a friendly heads-up, hide or remove content, limit posting or commenting, open a report for review, or — for serious or repeated violations — suspend or remove an account. Scams, fakes, and harassment can skip straight to removal.
  • Mistakes happen. If you think something was actioned in error, reach out and we'll take another look.
10

Reporting

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, tell us — the community stays good because members look out for it.

  • Use the report option on a post, comment, message, or profile to flag it for review.
  • For anything urgent or involving safety or a scam, email us directly at hello@theveloceapp.com.

Reports are confidential, and we review every one.
