Chaika is a Soviet/Russian watch brand from Uglich, adopted in 1963 to honor Valentina Tereshkova’s call sign after her Vostok-6 flight. Collectors recognize Chaika for its tiny Soviet-era women’s mechanical watches, which often feature distinctive, compact movements. While primarily known for these small ladies' timepieces, the Uglich Watch Factory also produced automatic, dive, quartz, and precious-metal-cased watches.
