Do I need to be a watch expert to play?
Not at all. Dialed is designed to teach as well as challenge. Even if you miss the answer, you learn a real watch term with its meaning — making you a more knowledgeable collector over time.
What kinds of words appear?
Movement parts (bezel, barrel, pallet), complications (repeater, flyback, regatta), materials (sapphire, titanium, guiloche), finishes (brushed, polished, fluted), and watch styles (flieger, tonneau, hunter). The full range of the horological vocabulary.
Why does the word length change each day?
Dialed uses the natural length of each horological term — from 5 letters up to 8 — rather than forcing all answers into 5 letters. The puzzle header always shows you how many letters to expect before you start.
Are my statistics saved?
Yes. Log in with a Veloce account and your wins, streaks, and guess distribution are saved permanently — even if you switch devices. Your streak resets if you miss a day.
