About the brand
At the center of everything we do is our commitment to ultra-performance. Beginning in 2017, inspired by a dream of independence, we began building our own integrated manufacturing workshops to bring to life advanced concepts in tool watch design. Begun in 2013 as hand sketches and developed through our own independent research and development, those initial concepts led to innovations in the science and art of watchmaking. A tradition we proudly continue today. Every aspect of what we do is still measured against our legacy vision to become the world’s leader in tool watch performance.

SēL Instrument, an American tool-watch maker founded in Tucson, Arizona, by Andrew McLean in 2013, is renowned for its engineering-driven approach to extreme durability. Specializing in rugged dive and general-purpose field watches, the brand crafts its timepieces largely from Grade 5 titanium, with most components machined in-house, embodying an uncompromising tool-watch ethos. Collectors seek SēL for its "bombproof" construction, innovative features like the proprietary WavLock bracelet system, and highly technical American-made machining, appealing to those who prioritize engineering depth and independent U.S. manufacturing for harsh-environment use.
