About the brand
Raketa, a Russian manufacture, is highly valued by collectors for its robust Soviet-era tool and military watches, including pieces made for cosmonauts, polar expeditions, the Red Army, and the Soviet Navy. Launched in 1961 by the Petrodvorets Watch Factory in honor of Yuri Gagarin’s first spaceflight, Raketa is one of the few brands that produces its mechanical movements entirely in-house. Its distinctive 24-hour polar watches and other utilitarian Soviet designs have garnered a cult following, building on a factory lineage that dates back to 1721 in Saint Petersburg.
