Bell & Ross BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic | 41mm Case
By Nick·October 9, 2026· 4 min read
Bell & Ross shrinks its iconic radar display to a new 41mm ceramic case with the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic. This limited-edition watch packages a distinctive concept into a more accessible format, featuring a unique green-tinted sapphire crystal and rotating aircraft indicators.
Bell & Ross has launched the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic, reference BR03A-GRDR-CE/SRB. It packages one of the brand's most distinctive display concepts into a new, more compact 41mm case for the first time. The watch is a limited edition of 999 pieces, priced at $5,100.

The Radar concept first appeared in 2010 with the larger BR-01, but this new release marks a significant shift in format. By moving the unconventional display to the BR-03 platform, Bell & Ross makes the design accessible to a wider audience. The core identity remains, but the execution is entirely modern.
At its heart, this is an instrument watch, but not in the traditional sense. Instead of prioritizing at-a-glance legibility, it recreates the experience of monitoring an aircraft control screen. It’s a design that will make any dialhead stop and try to decode what they’re seeing.
We've covered the brand's evolution before. We've seen them refine their designs for different purposes, from the professional-grade BR-03 Diver Black Bronze to the integrated-bracelet BR-05 GMT Green Steel built for urban life. The Green Radar carves a different path, focusing on pure design novelty.
The Bell & Ross BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic
The foundation of the watch is its 41mm micro-blasted black ceramic case. Measuring 10.60mm thick, its dimensions place it squarely in the versatile mid-size category. The micro-blasted finish gives the ceramic a completely matte, non-reflective surface, staying true to the anti-glare requirements of a cockpit instrument.
This case construction is both lightweight and highly scratch-resistant. It frames the complex display without distracting from it. Water resistance is rated at a practical 100 metres, sufficient for swimming and daily wear without concern.
A Display Unlike Any Other
The real story here is the dial, or rather, the lack of one. Bell & Ross replaces traditional hands with a system of three concentric rotating discs. Each disc is responsible for one unit of time—hours, minutes, and seconds—and features a small aircraft graphic as its indicator.
The entire assembly sits beneath a green-tinted sapphire crystal. Bell & Ross specifies this as "through-coloured," meaning the green is integral to the crystal itself, not a surface coating. This creates a filter effect, as if looking at a monochrome cathode-ray tube display.
Underneath the crystal, a target marking is applied. This adds a layer of visual depth, enhancing the illusion of a genuine radar scope.
To complete the effect, the aircraft indicators are painted with Dark Green Super-LumiNova. This provides a green glow in low-light conditions, maintaining the radar-screen aesthetic around the clock. Bell & Ross describes the constant motion of the three independent aircraft as a "perpetual aerial ballet."
Movement: The BR-CAL.327
Powering the disc system is the Calibre BR-CAL.327. This automatic mechanical movement provides a 54-hour power reserve. That figure means you can take it off on Friday evening and find it still running on Monday morning.
Specialist reporting identifies the movement's base as the Sellita SW300-1. This is a robust and reliable Swiss-made caliber known for its slim profile, which helps keep the case thickness down to 10.60mm. It operates at a standard frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).
The movement's primary modification is its adaptation to drive the weight of the three rotating discs instead of a lightweight handset. This requires careful engineering to ensure accuracy and power delivery remain consistent.
Straps and Wearability
The watch is delivered with two strap options. The primary strap is black rubber, fitting the utilitarian, instrument-panel feel. An additional ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap is also included, offering a more military-field-watch look.
Both straps attach to a steel pin buckle with a black PVD finish, matching the matte black of the ceramic case. The 41mm case size and relatively thin profile suggest a comfortable fit on a wide range of wrists, a key difference from the larger BR-01 models that preceded it.
Availability and Context
Production of the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic is limited to 999 pieces worldwide. This scarcity, combined with its unique design, positions it as a collector-focused piece. It appeals directly to enthusiasts who follow the brand's experimental "Flight Instruments" collection.
The watch is available for pre-order, with the brand site noting delivery for the end of October. Its place in the market is unique, competing less with traditional three-hand pilot watches and more with other conceptually driven timepieces. It's a statement of design first and a time-telling instrument second.
Editor's Take
The BR-03 Green Radar is less a daily time-teller and more a piece of kinetic art for the wrist. At $5,100, its value is in its unconventional display and limited-edition status. It targets a collector who prioritizes design novelty over traditional legibility.
