Elliot Brown just dropped a collection that’s part tool watch, part California dreamin’. They’ve taken their tough-as-nails Arne field watch and given it four wild, West Coast-inspired makeovers. Each one is limited to just 75 pieces.
The collection, called Cali Arne, swaps military drab for psychedelic swirls, sunset gradients, and even real wood. It’s a surprising move that pairs a serious chassis with a playful personality. Let’s get into whether it works.

First, you have to understand the base watch. The Arne is Elliot Brown’s go-to 38mm field watch platform. It’s built to be used and abused, no questions asked.
The specs tell the story: a 316L stainless steel case, a screw-down crown, and a legitimate 200 meters of water resistance. This isn't a dress watch masquerading as a tool watch. It’s the real deal.
Then comes the "Cali" part. The name refers to the California dial, a layout with Roman numerals on the top half and Arabic on the bottom. It was born from military needs in the 1930s for maximum legibility.
But Elliot Brown isn't just rehashing history here. They’ve taken the spirit of California—the surf, the cars, the counterculture—and splashed it all over the dials. This is where the collection gets really interesting.
Instead of aiming for historical accuracy, they’ve used the dial as a canvas. The result is four distinct personalities, each riffing on a different piece of West Coast culture.
Only 75 examples of each model will be made. This isn't a mass-market release; it's a small-batch experiment for collectors who want something different.

The Phantom Horizon feels like a nod to 80s pop culture. The dial is split between a sky-blue top and a grass-green bottom. A sharp red-orange line cuts across the middle, instantly evoking the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset.

This is arguably the most beautiful and wearable of the four. The Ocean Ombré features a stunning gradient dial that fades from a deep purple-blue into a light azure, capturing the mood of a Pacific sunset.

Here’s where things get wild. The Psychedelic Trip has a tie-dye swirl dial with bright orange, yellow, and two shades of blue. It’s a direct homage to California’s counterculture and vintage surf posters.

The Woodie is the collection's outlier. It features a dial made from actual wood, inspired by the wood-paneled station wagons of the California surf scene. It features a gold PVD-coated case.
All four models use a Swiss-made 5-jewel Ronda calibre 713 quartz movement. It is reliable, accurate, and requires almost zero maintenance.
